HISTORY OF COMPANY

Superior Tank Company was established in Houston, Texas in 1979. Superior Tank Company, Incorporated moved to Madisonville, Kentucky in 1991 and quickly outgrew its office space. Due to the expansion, STC relocated a few miles away to Princeton, Kentucky in 1999. In January 2000, Valerie Hargis, became owner and president of Superior Tank Company, Incorporated. She and her staff are dedicated to customer service. We pride ourselves in the directions the new management team is taking.

We are a full service tank company specializing in performing any task required to keep your tanks in conformance with today's regulatory agency codes which include AWWA, EPA, NFPA and OSHA.  We also specialize in inspections (scuba, ultrasonic and visual), paint, repair, clean outs, code updates and building of GST's to AWWA and NFPA code requirements.  Dismantlements of ground storage tanks are a special focus of STC.

We are members of Kentucky Rural Water Association, AWWA-Kentucky/Tennessee section, Texas Rural Water Association, American Water Works Association (AWWA), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and Steel Structures Painting Council (SSPC). We carry a three million ($3,000,000) dollar liability/excess liability policy for our mutual protection.
